Dave Ivers
Dave Ivers is a seasoned certified public accountant* with over 14 years of experience in upper
management and corporate accounting for a variety of complex organizations.
Dave earned a BS in Business Administration with a primary concentration in Accounting and a
minor in Management Information Systems. Upon graduating, Dave worked as an auditor for two
prominent CPA firms as lead auditor. Dave also work tirelessly during tax season and prepared
numerous individual, estate, corporate, and not for profit returns.
Dave left public accounting and worked in County Government as Senior Management Auditor and
Supervisor. Dave played a key roll as subject matter expert during two concurrent system
implementations involving both the financial and payroll systems. Dave’s daily duties at the
County were maintaining and supervising the bi-weekly 3,300 employee payroll. Dave was able
to utilize his minor in MIS in developing specialized SQL queries, financial reports, and
detailed Excel work sheets.
Upon leaving county government, Dave became Controller for an organization that provided turn
key business services for thirteen local Charter Schools. As Controller, Dave utilized his
school finance and audit experience to move the company’s school clients to the next level.
Not only was Dave instrumental on school accounting, budgeting, and reporting, Dave was an advocate
for additional school funding. Dave identified and applied for federal and state grant funding
and also developed key processes in the reconciliation, accounting and reporting for fifty five
individual state and federal grants.
Due to changes in state legislature affecting charter school law, Dave was hired from a member
client to fill the position of Director of Finance. As Director of Finance, Dave implemented a
financial package that resembled the requirements placed upon the school by the state. Dave was
instrumental in developing the annual budget and presenting results of operations to the Board on
a quarterly and annual basis. Furthermore, Dave handled all personnel and accounting functions
as required.
After a couple of years with the charter school, Dave was presented with an opportunity to work
for a major Christian broadcasting not for profit as Director of Finance. Dave was responsible
for the preparation and maintenance of the companies’ $187M operating budget, detailed board
reports full of financial results and explanations, 45 key ratios and metrics, form 990 and 990t,
coordinate annual audits, property tax returns, reconciliation of subordinate financial systems,
supervise nine member accounting department, monthly accounting for 96 commercial capital leases,
345 monthly operating lease agreements, bond financing, and much more.
In 2007, Dave and his family decided make a change and moved from California to the beautiful state
of Idaho. While in Idaho, Dave started his own successful home improvement company. Dave also
provides small business consulting services to area businesses and offers services in accounting
financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow projections, key metric identification and development.
Dave likes to work hard as well as play hard. Dave’s wife Michele and their two boys, Daniel and
Stephen enjoy discovering the numerous unbeaten trails that Idaho has to offer on their dirt bikes.
They also love camping, fly fishing, mountain biking, and swimming in the Boise River.
